NIA Commences Child Registration Mop-up in the Volta and Oti Regions

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has commenced a one-month mop-up registration exercise for Ghanaian children in the Volta and Oti Regions, running from 4 June to 3 July 2026.

This registration exercise aims at children aged 6-14 years who missed the initial registration, and the time is from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily.

In a press release, the NIA stated that children who do not attend school may register at any designated centre within the districts.

These districts include South Tongu, Adaklu, Ketu South, Akatsi South, Kpando Municipal, Hohoe Municipal, South Dayi, North Tongu, North Dayi, Afadzato South, Central Tongu, Ho West, Ho Municipal, Krachi Nchumuru, Krachi East, Kadjebi, Nkwanta South, Biakoye, Guan, Nkwanta North, Jasikan and Krachi West.

The Authority reaffirmed its dedication to upholding a secure, reliable, and inclusive National Identity Register that encompasses every eligible Ghanaian.

The Authority expressed appreciation to parents, guardians, traditional leaders, the Ghana Education Service, the National Health Insurance Authority, the media, and other stakeholders for their assistance during the previous registration exercise.
