ORC Begins Strike-Off Process for 453 Companies, Dissolves 323 Others

• 2 MIN READ

The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has announced its intention to strike off 453 companies from the Register of Companies while confirming the dissolution of 323 companies in accordance with the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992).

In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the ORC said the action follows the publication of two separate notices concerning companies on the Register of Companies, pursuant to the provisions of the Companies Act.

According to the ORC, 453 companies are currently subject to strike-off proceedings under Section 289(3) of Act 992.

The Office explained that notice had already been published in Volume 48 of the ORC Companies Bulletin on October 15, 2026, and that the affected companies would be struck off the Register and dissolved unless cause is shown to the contrary within three months from the date of the notice.

The ORC further announced that 323 companies have been struck off the Register of Companies and consequently dissolved under Section 289(5) of Act 992.

The Office stated that notice of intention to strike off the affected companies had previously been published in Volume 40 of the ORC Companies Bulletin.

“Following the expiration of the stipulated period and the absence of any cause shown to the contrary, the companies were removed from the Register,” the statement read.

It said the striking off was subsequently published in Volume 49 of the ORC Companies Bulletin, dated October 15, 2026, upon which the affected companies stood dissolved in accordance with the law.

The ORC urged affected entities and stakeholders to take the necessary steps to regularise their status where applicable or contact the Office for further information and guidance.

The Office reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring compliance with Ghana’s corporate regulatory framework and promoting high standards of corporate governance and business transparency.

The ORC advised members of the public seeking clarification or copies of the notices to contact its call centre or engage the Office through its official social media platforms.
